Greg Eversole Brian Ziebart
Brian D. Carroll, PhD., is currently the Historian & Archivist for the Israelite House of David in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Originally from New England, Brian has worked in higher education, museums, and public history for more than twenty-five years.
Receiving his doctorate in American history from the University of Connecticut, he was then a professor of history at Salem State University in Massachusetts, Central Washington University in Washington State, and, finally, Moravian University in Pennsylvania, before working as a museum director for several years in Michigan. Since 2021, he has been a historian and head archivist at the House of David.
Brian has published numerous articles and book reviews in scholarly journals as well as popular history magazines. In addition, he designs museum exhibitions and gives frequent presentations at conferences and museums. He is the recipient of dozens of prestigious fellowships and awards.

A Michigan native, Olivia Beebe is originally from the Allegan area. Olivia received her MA in Art History & Curation from the University of Birmingham, England in 2020; her undergraduate degree is from Central Michigan University.
Since then, she has worked primarily in local history museums, including the Trumbull County Historical Society in Warren, Ohio as a Local History Member (through the Ohio History Service Corps) and Collections Assistant. Olivia is dedicated to increasing the accessibility of the collections at the Israelite House of David Archives & Collections.

Neave recently earned her Master of Arts in History at Louisiana State University. During her time in the South, Neave gained valuable hands-on work experience as an Archives Specialist at the Louisiana State Archives. She intends to make good use of those cataloguing and conservation skills as a member of our Archives and Collections staff. On top of her enthusiasm to steward the colony’s collections, she is also eager to promote its historical legacy.
